The Latinx Student Outreach Team

The Latinx Student Outreach Team is committed to the success of Latinx students at Illinois. We focus on addressing topics like mental health stigma, racism and discrimination, language and cultural adjustment barriers, representation and support, LGBTQIA+ issues, immigration concerns, and academic or family/social stressors.

Examples of Our Outreach Activities

 

  • Tabling events for awareness and support
  • Pláticas consultation services
  • Mental health-related workshops and presentations
  • Partnership projects with La Casa Cultural Latina, Latina/Latino Studies Department, Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA), Women’s Resources Center, Latinx Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), and Latinx fraternities/sororities
  • Collaboration with other Counseling Center staff on ongoing projects that intersect multiple areas of outreach and populations.
  • Partnership and/or attending professional networking events with campus partners.
