Please note: For Fall 2020, all of our therapy groups will be held remotely via Zoom.
Group counseling is often the most beneficial option for many student concerns. Group counseling is a form of psychotherapy that usually involves four to ten clients and one or two experienced group therapists. Most therapy groups meet every week at the same time for one or two hours. During that time, the members of the group discuss the issues that are concerning them and offer each other support and feedback. Interpersonal interaction is highly valued and encouraged. Group counseling may be particularly useful for students who are having difficulties in their relationships or who want to learn about themselves and their connections to other people. Group counseling is the only long-term treatment option offered at the Counseling Center.
The Counseling Center offers several different groups based on various interests and perspectives.
